Aisling Bea

Aisling was born on March 16 1984 on the island of Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's best-known and popular comedians. She has been featured on QI together as well as Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, better than her stage title Aisling Bea (born March 16, 1984) is an Irish actor, writer and comedian. Bea started her stand-up career in 2011, after appearing as a guest on a variety of Irish television shows and British series from 2009. In 2012, Bea was appearing on sitcoms or sketch comedy. She began appearing regularly on panel shows after winning an award for The Edinburgh Comedy Awards. In 2016 and 2017, she was part of the 8 Out of 10 Cats team and also a part-time participant in the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. She was the child of Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead is the younger of her siblings. In 2012 she became the second woman to ever win the So You Think That You're Funny award. Bea is her name in honour of her deceased father. Aisling Cliodhnadh, O'Sullivan is the daughter of a Kildare born woman. Born on March 16th 1984. Bea's father Brian, an equine vet who committed suicide at the age of three when Bea turned three was an suicide victim. The news of his death only at the age of thirteen. To honor her dad, she took the stage name Bea and in 2017, she wrote an article on suicides that affected her family for The Guardian. Bea as well as her sister Sinead were nurtured by their mother Helen (nee Moloney) an elementary school teacher jockey trainer and professional jockey for a time. They were both passionate about horses, races and racing. As a young girl, Bea was a tour guide at the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early stage that she was not attracted to the race industry as a job, and was a performer.
