Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21 in 1983. She is an American actress best known for her role as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Born in Worthington Ohio she quit high school and moved into Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorce. The year 2001 was a difficult one for her, but despite financial struggles she managed get her first significant part in the web-based video series Rachel's Room playing the principal character. Following her win of a Young Artist Award in 2002 due to her role of Murder In Greenwich of a 15-year old Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace was able to be awarded. Grace Rutherford played the lead actress on Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace was dropped from the series in 2005 to focus on an even more prominent role in movies, and had a role opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. She starred in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern version of Lewis Carroll's classic novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised Shannon's role in Lost for two more episodes, including the finale of the series. In 2013, Grace appears in the episode Californianation of the 6th season. She is Faith an actress who serves as a model for the stars and catches the eye from Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She's a Gyllenhaal, the daughter of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is more senior in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career when she was a teenager, playing small parts in a few of his films. She also appeared with her brother in the popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received nominations for the Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) and the love story Secretary (2002). Both films were critically acclaimed. The actress gained more attention when she portrayed Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008), thanks to several successful commercial films that she was a part of during 2006. In 2009, she received a nomination for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mother on screen in Crazy Heart. After that, she went on to appear in comedy films as well as dramas such Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011), and The Won't Back Down (12). Other characters include as a secret agent of The Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer in Frank 2014 and also as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she portrays the main role. Gyllenhaal was the writer and director of her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The psychological drama won Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. It was also nominated to the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
