Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a New Mexican born musician and singer who fell in love with Colorado. Many people traveled to Colorado due to Denver's famous songs for his home state. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver was by far one of the most popular artists who represented Colorado. Denver was the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Denver is a symbol of the state for all people. In my travels I've had the pleasure of meeting people who are from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform them you're from Colorado The first thing they'll use are Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 hits after he performed with small folk bands. It was co-written by and performed by Bill Danoff. Danoff had written the song with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear the song's early versions and was aware that it was going to be a top 10 hit. Danoff recorded the track just a few days later following a performance to an enthusiastic audience at Washington D.C.
